| The week long added purse is scheduled for the week of September 13th through the 18th. The hunt will kick off at the Mexico club with a $50.00 dollar 1 hour hunt with a $250.00 added, then to West Eaton and Brookfield for the same format. The 4th night will be in Apalachin for a 2 hour $500.00 added and end the week with 2 nights at Wyoming club for $500.00 added. I would suggest to anyone that is involved that we get together and have a small meeting at one of the upcoming hunts so we can hammer out the details so everyone is on the same page. Anyone can call T.J or myself with any questions. |

Gorham Youth Hunt
Event will start at 7:00 with dinner compliments of the Barnhart family. In order to help to keep the event running smoothly all partisipants in both events are asked to regester their dogs as soon as they arrive to prevent a last minute jam at the table as we have several things to pass out to the youth hunters. Also the judges and guides should check in at the table so the hunt director will know you are present. As a courtesy to the hunt director who will have more than enough to do dont be late!Better yet come early and have some of the fine food that the Barnharts will be serving.Good luck to all,be a sportsman and a compeditor and have a good time win or loose. Also we will award two perdator lights. One for over age 12 and one for 12 and under, plus other events with awards divided the same way.
All youths who have never been a member of PKC and are entering a dog will have their PKC memberships paid for by the Gorham Club.It is important to bring a copy of the birth certificate so PKC can have it on record for national awards. |

We knew it would happen sooner or later, and last night we got our chance. Shawn Choquette, Bubba Huckabone and I had three females coonhunting in a remote area of Madison County last night. At first, we thought the dogs were running a coyote, but they kept baying and then treeing. My younger relatively untrained female treed a small black bear by herself, the the two other females, Twice and Tammy, ran another cub for several hours, and treed it. Old Tammy, who is 7, and a relatively straight coonhound, almost died from exhaustion. We never did see Mamma Bear, which was fine with us. Home by 3:30 a.m. _________________ Upstate Hillbilly |

Actually, it was the second; first we had let the dogs go by walking them into an isolated area on a gated road in public land and then they took off and ran down the highway pell mell rather than go hunting in the 3,600 acre forest we were in. It was probably not our most stellar night. _________________ Upstate Hillbilly |
