Looks like you have been catchin the fish. That 13 inch crappie looks like a baby amidst them stripers. Pretty good day, I`d say.

Nice clip. I always have a camcorder in my pocket when I am running the dogs these days. I have video of my beagles I took over 20 years ago.
When you have your hunt this Fall, I may not bring any fish but maybe some of my fruit trees will produce and I will be able to bring an apple, pear, or peach (it will be too late for peaches).
As for my fish video, I may not always catch so many but I never fail to have a respectable catch. I mostly catch crappie and channel catfish. My poor old beagles don't get much running this time of the year. _________________ Dave Haugh Member #23936

Here is a video clip of my UKC Grand Champion Hunting Beagle Champion Lakeland's Cricket II. Her mother, Lakeland's Cricket, was the first beagle ever registered with PKC.

I watched both videos. Looked good.
We sceduled our next 2 hunts Dave.
Aug 14, 6am and 10 am.
Sept. 4th, 6am and 10 am.
The Aug Hunt will be a scorcher, but were gonna make a go of it. Made one of the hunts a 25$ entry, and the other is 15$. These will be the last 2 hunts of this year for us. The next ones will be in late January and Febuary. _________________ Lazy people are soon poor, hard workers get rich...Proverbs 10:4 |

Your hunts are a bit too early for me to have my beagles ready, I will still be fishing a lot. But, I may come anyway, depending on what's going on. You know I compete with my squirrel dogs and coon hounds also. It will be too early for me to be doing much with them either but my squirrel dogs will be getting some work, squirrel season opens August 1.
I know you have to schedual your hunts according to when your hunting spots are availible, so I understand. I reckon, for now, I will take what I can get as far as PKC Beagle Hunts go. I like to compete with my beagles in the Fall and Winter when the brush is down and the runnin' is hard and fast.
I caught 2 catfish this morning, a 7 pounder and a 5 pounder. I didn't get to fish too long or in my best spots because of the storms. _________________ Dave Haugh Member #23936

Yah, I like to have the hunts later as well, but we can`t do fall hunts here on our running ground with all the deer hunters. The places we run bowhunters have permision to hunt and we`d mess them up.
As early as we could do a fall hunt would be late Dec. We are looking at starting out next year in late January.
You guys said after the last hunt that you wanted to have some summer hunts, so I scheduled them. We`ll have to see how they go. _________________ Lazy people are soon poor, hard workers get rich...Proverbs 10:4 |

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. I will gladly take what I can get. It is that I don't expect the running to be great but I didn't the last hunt and it turned out to be good.
At this stage, we will get started and maybe some day we can build it into several hunts at several locations. We have to start somewhere.
We have deer hunter problems around here, in coon hunts and squirrel hunts as well as beagle hunts.
Are the beagles Rudy has any good? _________________ Dave Haugh Member #23936

Rudy, it has been my experiance that the fastest beagle doesn't always score the most points. I reckon we might see how it goes when the money is on the line sometime. LOL
Squirrel season opens in a little over 30 days and I am currently feeding a couple of Squirrel Champions. One is a PKC Squirrel Champion. And, I have been fishin' a lot lately. I had about a 15 pound stringer yesterday, a small catch by my standards. In May, I was coming in with 30-40 pound stringers daily. So, my plate is full when it comes to hunting and fishing right now. My beagles will be taking a back seat for a while.
I like my chances with Midi and Cricket II when in shape and I might have a pile of $100 bills ready in case I run across another dog I like. I have a pretty full kennels right now but have standing offers for a couple of my dogs and I change them around from time to time. Heck, I almost called about a squirrel dog this morning and I am not hunting the 2 Squirrel Champions I have now now. Both you and Kevin know I keep decent squirrel dogs. I have been on several PKC Squirrel Dog casts with Kevin.
Kevin, have you ever contacted Doug Marlow about the PKC Beagle Hunts? I would bet he would want in, I know he loves PKC competition hunts. I have thought about sending a young beagle to his starting pen. _________________ Dave Haugh Member #23936

If Rudy got a hold of that beagle he was telling me about, I`ve ran with him and he`ll do some winnin, I`m sure of that. I don`t know about any others.
I tried to call Doug and left messages for him to call me back, still waiting. I guess he too is as busy as we are. As for your squirrel dogs, I`ve seen some good work from`em. I always really liked the old Mtn. Curr. Now if I was to hunt one it would probably be like your English bitch you have. I really like that English line of hounds. They left an impression on me I`ll never forget. Talk about tree dogs.!
I ran beagles this morning for about 6 hours. I only spent about 2 outside, but they were pounding. I`ve got a real nice young blue male that looked good this morning. I tried to get some video, but it didn`t work out that good. Oh well, there is always next time. _________________ Lazy people are soon poor, hard workers get rich...Proverbs 10:4 |

We are trying to raise sweet potatoes this year. Frances Gail say I can't raise them like folks do in Georgia.
You need one of my Curs for your groundhog. They will tree them the same way a hound trees a coon. I have had some Curs that were sure death for a groundhog.
I have a young beagle I have been turning loose on the rabbits. My yard is full of rabbits now. Every critter there is comes through my yard.
My beagles are not getting much work yet but in about 30 days or so I plan to start running them some. I am still catching a lot of fish. _________________ Dave Haugh Member #23936
