This is a great post! I believe R.D. did what he felt best for the entire membership, I also know that you can't make everybody happy. I feel PKC did the right thing. I did miss the vendors and walkin/talkin around in the tennis center, but Salem wins hands down in my opinion. _________________ 573-315-0331 |

I like Western Ky. and looked foward to it for years, that being said, there is no comparison between the hunting there and at Salem, yea you might get a cast or two in W.K. seeing several coon, but as a hole Salem has way more coon.I don't need to go to W.K. to see,I've been there the last 15 yrs,but thanks for the invite fellas, just being honest guys and not trying to offend anyone. If you are planning on advancing at Salem, you will have to do it with plus points from what I seen. The only place circle will get you is back at the entree table the next night.I hate to admit it but I'm gonna have to go with Salem on this on.JMO. _________________ STILLWATER FARM'S KENNEL (TREE BLUE) TOM JENNINGS |

DARELL TODD and myelf just got in and we shot out 3 coons but if we had counted the # that we shine setting up i would guess some were between 20 and 40. if you don,t believe me call him. 270 227 5784. and thats with 2 black dogs.
i am very happy were every the w.h. is. but it is a bunch of bulls--- saying that we have no coons or that it is to ruff.
AL didnt you and darrell have a pretty good hunt the other night, shot out 3 coons i hear, only about 15 mile from tennis center. _________________ west ky blackandtans

Well I hunted one night at the WH and we did see 3 coons but after crossing 4 roads and having to call timeout 5 times due to interference and none of the five times were they running the roads just crossing them (so no I wasn't hunting a road dog)well the people that are welcoming you to the city aren't going to bring your dog back if and when something happens. Good luck to all and I hope I haven't offended anyone and hope to see you all real soon and great hunting!
Oh and AL wasn't directed towards anyone other than the ones that haven't been here and can judge this place. _________________ "LET YOUR DOGS TALK FOR YOU, DONT MAKE UP EXCUSES FOR THEM"

Gonna give my opinion...My son hunted in the youth world so I was glad it was at Salem so I wouldn't have been committed to guiding a cast that night and I was able to be there at the truck to support him after each drop. From what I saw there were sevral coons scored in IL.But I don't THINK it was anymore than Aurora in years past.In that 2 hour youth hunt we moved twice after the initial drop, this was after driving to Flora.Don't get me wrong the guide put these kids on some coon.(Their cast was highest scoring cast Friday night, early round),but according to my son they hunted fence rows,a small patch of woods surounded by cornfields, and the last drop was some cut over timber. So really it couldn't have been much better than West KY.As far as I'm concerned cut over timber is tough hunting as well as Ice damage. It rained so much we didn't get out to see the town so really didn't meet any of the locals, but I'm sure they were as hospitable as everyone says.So it really doesn't matter where it's gonna be held there are good and bad points no matter where you go. _________________ "Wudn't no matter,No Grizz left anyway"

I still have nothing against either place and Aurora is a lot closer to home. I guide quite a bit..... BUT if you want to talk about roads, there is no comparison.... especially if you draw a guide that hunts right around Aurora on the Lake. I drew out there several round of the SS last year. We crossed several roads on every cast! On one of the casts I caught my dog in the parking lot of Willow Pond Resturant right in the middle of town. Not to mention all of the barking house dogs!!! Late round in the Final Six of the Superstakes our guide turns us loose in cutover as far as you could see. It was right behind a campground that had a generator running so loud you could barely hear the dogs. We walked through two neighborhoods and a different campground on this cast and treed in a culvert not 50 yards from a trailer. _________________ 26627 |

Exactly its all in who you draw as a guide some good ones some bad ones. Coons at both places but still dont think the ice storm had anything to do with it something had to have happened with the PKC and wished they hadnt used the ice storm as and excuse and just came out and told everyone the real truth why they moved it cause as everyone saw there wasnt any better hunting in salem then there is here. Then everyone would know and couldnt complain about anything. They moved the world hunt big deal only thing I want to know is why they moved everything we had other than the Breeders Showcase. _________________ Top Line Amos Moses |

Keith I don't know you from Adam, but I want you to do one thing before you make remarks like this any more. Call me at 270-853-6184 and we will make plans to hunt this week away from Calloway County. You and the guys directly below you need to know how fortunate you are. I went and looked this evening at some tree stands I would like to move from where I had them last winter, and can only get a four wheeler to one of them. The whole place looked like a bomb went off. It's not just one place either. It's a big part of the area where the casts were sent......The areas where most people were glad to draw.
I don't have a drop of ownership in PKC but it looks like to me that the stability that they have had at Aurora is something that they would not take lightly. I live here too, was glad to have it here, but tickled that it was moved because in my opinion it was best for the hunters who took vacation time from work, and time from their families, and to give them as fair of a shake as they could get. It wasn't the handiest thing for old Al, but to me it was the fairest thing for the hunters as a whole, and that is what I want to support.
When I say I would like you to call and come up here and away from the few counties that were spared you can take me serious. We'll drive down the road and you say where to stop! I'll take the heat if there are any problems. Until then, just count yourself fortunate that you didn't get what the rest of us got. _________________ GET DEEP AND LONELY...........TWO LOOKIN DOWN'LL BEAT THE WOODMONSTERS EVERY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

I know most state hunts are rotated to different sites every year, seems like PKC could do the same with the world hunt. If you didn't like where the hunt was you could wait a couple years and it would be at a place that would be pleasing to you.
