The 2018 PKC National Championship held this past week was another outstanding event put on by the fine folks at Salem, Illinois with the ever present help of the Flora Coon Club. This hunt is one of PKC's most prestigious displays of proven hounds and great handlers and it most certainly puts them all to the test.
David Dial and Vern Carter did a great job providing quality guides throughout the week and many raccoons were scored. Just looking at the quarter-final, semi-final rounds through the final, there were 44 raccoon plussed. That's an average of about four and half coon per cast!
Thanks go out to all our Full-Time Judges & panel members; Mike Hensley, Tom Wilson, Bud Hood, Gerald Yoder, Garrett Eblen, Cody Mayne and Carroll Uplinger Jr. Several of these guys also helped out with taking entries and other details during the day.
Much respect and appreciation to those members who unselfishly stepped up to judge late rounds after they got beat early. We know it is not an easy choice to make, especially when other hunters are going out, or go to bed. A few of these guys were already at the motel or heading that way when they found out we needed them and they came back. Thank You!!!
